ลักษณะเด่นของแนวปะการังบริเวณเกาะต่าง ๆ ในอุทยานแห่งชาติหมู่เกาะชุมพร คือองค์ประกอบสิ่งมีชีวิต ในแนวปะการัง และ บริเวณรอบเกาะต่างๆ เช่น เกาะง่ามน้อย เกาะง่ามใหญ่ มักปรากฏเป็นโพรงถ้ำใต้ทะเล บางแห่งมีความยาวมากกว่า 15 เมตร และกว้างกว่า 10 เมตร ภายในถ้ำมักพบฟองน้ำ ปะการัง และสัตว์ทะเลหลายชนิด อาศัยอยู่ภายใน นอกจากนี้บริเวณเกาะง่ามใหญ่และเกาะง่ามน้อย ยังพบเห็นฉลามวาฬ (Whale shark) ซึ่งถือเป็นปลาที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกได้บ่อยครั้ง ซึ่งมีลักษณะแตกต่างไปจากบริเวณอื่นๆ ดังนี้
- เป็นบริเวณที่พบปะการังดำ (Black coral) ซึ่งเป็นสัตว์ในกลุ่มของกัลปังหามากที่สุดในประเทศไทย
- พบสัตว์ในกลุ่มของปะการังอ่อน (Soft coral)
- ถ้วยทะเล (Corallimorph) พรมทะเล (Zooanthid) และดอกไม้ทะเล (Sea anemone) ขนาดใหญ่มากที่สุดในอ่าวไทย
- มีปริมาณและความหลากหลายของชนิดพันธุ์ปลามากที่สุดในอ่าวไทย
- มีปริมาณและความหลากหลายของชนิดพันธุ์หอยมาก เป็นจุดสำรวจที่น่าสนใจมากที่สุดในอ่าวไทย

The dive site is called Chumphon islands national park. It's located in the middle south area of Thailand.It will take 5-6 hours to get there from Bangkok by car. The outstanding feature of this dive site is the rockery and rock tunnel under the water.Some of them have 15 meters long and 10 meter in width. We usually found sea sponge and many marine creatures inside. Moreover, we often found the whale shark around here.
